Quartz FAQ
How do I use the quartz swatch explorer?
The swatch explorer lets you browse the full range of quartz colors, patterns, and finishes — from bright whites and soft greys to dramatic veined looks and bold hues. What makes quartz different from granite?
Quartz is an engineered stone made from approximately 90–93% crushed natural quartz bound with polymer resins. Unlike granite, quartz is non-porous — meaning it never needs sealing and is highly resistant to staining. It also has a more consistent, predictable pattern since it's manufactured, rather than the completely unique variation you get with natural stone. Quartz is the top choice for homeowners who want a beautiful surface with virtually zero maintenance.
Does Precision Granite Works carry all the quartz colors shown?
We carry a large inventory of popular quartz colors in our Epsom showroom. For colors not currently in stock, we work with trusted suppliers including MSI and others to source slabs quickly. Call us at 603-736-0004 or visit the showroom to check current availability on any specific quartz you find in the explorer.
Is quartz heat resistant?
Quartz is heat resistant, but less so than granite. The resin binders in engineered quartz can be affected by sustained direct heat — we recommend using trivets or hot pads under cookware placed directly from the stove or oven. For a countertop that handles hot pans without any precaution, granite is the stronger choice. For everything else — daily meal prep, spills, staining — quartz performs excellently.
How do I get a quote on a quartz countertop?
The easiest way is to visit our Epsom showroom where you can see slabs in person and get an accurate same-day quote. You can also call us at 603-736-0004 or fill out the form below. For an accurate quote we'll need your approximate countertop dimensions — you can estimate from your existing countertops, and we'll confirm exact measurements during our templating visit.
