Your Slab, Not a Sample

A Preview of Your Stone, Not Just a Style

Room visualizers are a helpful starting point for exploring colors and styles. A digital slab layout takes the next step: it uses a detailed image of the stone you've chosen, so you can see how its own patterns could work across your countertops.

How It Fits Our Process

From Selection to Fabrication

We plan your layout after templating—measuring your space—and before fabrication. Here's how it fits into our process.

  1. 01

    Choose Your Stone

Find the granite, quartzite or other countertop stone that feels right for your home. Start at our Epsom showroom and arrange full-slab viewing at our Manchester slab yard by appointment.

  2. 02

    We Create Your Layout

Our team uses the file created by our on-site digital templating device to arrange your countertop pieces on a detailed image of your selected slab. The layout combines the precise shapes and dimensions captured in your home with the colors, veins and patterns of your actual stone.

  3. 03

See It Before We Cut It

View your layout with us in person or conveniently by email. Talk through the veining, planned seams and any adjustments that may be possible with your stone and countertop design.

  4. 04

    We Bring It to Life

After the layout is finalized, our team cuts, finishes and installs your countertops, bringing thoughtful planning and skilled craftsmanship into your home.

What You Get Out of It

Picture the Details That Make It Yours

Picture a dramatic vein on your island

Love a sweeping vein in your slab? See where it could appear on your kitchen island and discuss how to make that feature part of the design.

See how adjoining counters relate

Look at the planned pattern direction across neighboring countertop pieces, including where a run turns a corner or meets another section.

Know where seams are planned

See the proposed seam positions and talk through how they relate to the stone's pattern, your sink and the shape of your kitchen.

Understand how your stone will be used

See which areas of the slab are planned for your island, counters and other pieces, so you can discuss the colors and patterns you want to highlight.

Especially helpful with veined natural stone like quartzite and bold granite.

A Quick Note About Digital Layouts

Digital layouts provide a helpful preview of how your selected stone will be used. Because natural stone is unique and screen colors can vary, we always recommend viewing your actual slab when possible. Our team will also help you understand any practical considerations that could affect the final layout.

Every slab of natural stone is different, and the way it's cut can make a big difference in how your finished countertops look. With our digital layout technology, we can show you where the veins, colors, and patterns of your chosen stone will appear on your countertops before we make the first cut.

You'll have the opportunity to review the layout with our team, either in person or by email. We can walk you through how the stone will be used, show you where seams are planned, and discuss any adjustments that may be possible before fabrication begins.

Common Questions

Digital Slab Layout FAQ

What is a digital slab layout?

It's a preview created by combining the file from your on-site digital template with a detailed image of your selected stone slab. Your countertop pieces are arranged using the shapes and dimensions captured by our digital templating device, helping you see how the colors, veins and patterns could appear across your counters and where seams are planned.

How do I review my layout by email?

We can email the layout so you can look it over at home. Share your questions and preferences with our team by email or talk it through with us by phone. If you'd rather review it together in person, we're happy to help.

Can we discuss changes to the layout?

Yes. Tell us what catches your eye and what you'd like to explore, whether it's a vein on the island or the direction of a pattern. We'll discuss feasible adjustments based on the slab, your countertop measurements and practical cutting and installation needs.

Does the preview show my finished kitchen?

No. A digital slab layout shows how your countertop pieces are planned on your selected stone, not a photorealistic image of the countertops installed in your room. It's a helpful way to discuss the stone and planned seams before cutting.

Is digital slab layout available for every project?

It depends on your stone and project. Ask PGW whether a digital layout would be suitable for your countertops, and we'll help you understand the options.

Can my designer or contractor join the review?

Absolutely. Your kitchen or bath designer and contractor can review the layout with you in person or by email. Let us know who you'd like involved so we can discuss your plans together.
