Built for New Hampshire Weather
Outdoor Stone That Handles Everything NH Throws at It
New Hampshire's climate is demanding — hard freezes, freeze-thaw cycling, intense UV in summer, and everything in between. Not every stone, and certainly not every countertop material, belongs outdoors here. We're direct about this: granite is what we recommend for NH outdoor projects, because it's what actually works long-term.
We fabricate outdoor kitchen countertops, grill station surfaces, outdoor bar tops, fire pit caps, and utility surfaces for NH homeowners who take their outdoor living seriously. Every outdoor piece is precision-cut, finished, and sealed before delivery — ready for your contractor to install.

Why Granite — and Not Quartz — for NH Outdoors
We're often asked whether quartz works outdoors. The honest answer for New Hampshire: no. The resin binders in engineered quartz can discolor under prolonged UV exposure and may not survive NH's extreme freeze-thaw cycles. Granite is a pure natural stone — UV-stable, freeze-thaw resistant, and fully heat tolerant. It's the only countertop material we recommend for exposed outdoor use in NH, and it's what we'd use at our own homes.
Granite's natural minerals don't fade or discolor in sunlight — unlike the resins in engineered stone.
Properly sealed granite handles NH's extreme winter temperature swings without cracking or spalling.
Direct flame from a grill or fire pit won't damage granite — it's formed under conditions far more extreme than any backyard fire.

Beyond the Kitchen
Custom Granite Pool Coping & Stone Wall Caps
Stone work for NH outdoor spaces extends well beyond countertops. We fabricate custom granite caps for pool surrounds, retaining walls, and decorative stone bases — precision-cut to follow any radius or curve, including the serpentine pool wall shown here.
Granite is the only material we recommend for pool-adjacent applications in New Hampshire. It handles constant water exposure, freeze-thaw cycling, and chlorine splash without degrading, discoloring, or cracking — season after season.
Common Questions
Outdoor Stone FAQ
What stone works best for outdoor countertops in New Hampshire?
Granite is our strong recommendation for all exposed outdoor surfaces in New Hampshire. Granite is UV-stable (it won't fade in sunlight), handles freeze-thaw cycling without cracking when properly sealed, and is fully heat resistant — so a hot grill or fire pit won't damage it. We seal all outdoor granite pieces before delivery to ensure they're ready for NH's full range of weather conditions.
Can quartz be used outdoors in NH?
We do not recommend quartz for outdoor applications in New Hampshire. Engineered quartz contains polymer resin binders that can discolor and degrade under prolonged UV exposure. Additionally, the freeze-thaw cycles common in NH winters can stress the resin-stone composite in ways that pure granite handles easily. For outdoor projects, granite is the only countertop material we recommend. We'll explain this honestly during your consultation.
Does outdoor granite need to be sealed?
Yes. We apply a high-quality penetrating sealer to all outdoor granite pieces before delivery. For outdoor applications, we recommend resealing annually — more frequently than kitchen countertops — due to the more intense UV and weather exposure. The process is simple and takes less than an hour. We'll walk you through exactly how to do it when we deliver your project.
What edge profiles work best for outdoor countertops?
For outdoor use, we typically recommend more durable edge profiles — eased, beveled, and half-bullnose edges hold up better to impact than delicate ogee or ornate profiles, which can chip more easily in outdoor settings. That said, any profile is available and we'll discuss the trade-offs for your specific project. A flat eased edge is a popular, practical choice for outdoor kitchen countertops and grill stations.
Do you install outdoor countertops or just fabricate them?
We handle templating and precision fabrication of all outdoor stone pieces. Installation is typically done by your contractor, mason, or outdoor kitchen builder — the same trade installing your outdoor kitchen structure. Our pieces are templated, cut, and sealed before delivery so your installer has everything they need for a clean, accurate installation. We can coordinate delivery timing with your project schedule.
